Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- The Paint Shop Area Coordinator oversees employees within the Paint Shop Department, managing daily operations, including planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work. Responsibilities also include training staff, evaluating performance, and making decisions regarding discipline, retention, or termination as needed.
- The Paint Shop Area Coordinator provides daily reports on production, safety, material constraints, and any issues observed in the factory to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.
- This employee must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and will lead a team of painters on a daily basis.
- Blend and match paint colors to achieve desired specifications.
- Washes, scrapes, sands, and/or smooth exterior surfaces prior to painting or applying other related materials.
- Cleans work area, including the equipment and the color mixing station.
- Operates compressors, spray equipment, and other small power equipment.
- Operates heavy lifting machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Applies paints surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
- Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
- Orders and purchases tools, equipment and supplies.
- Investigates employee injuries and assists in preparing injury reports.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations through training and enforcement. Oversees work processes to maintain quality and adherence to job standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma and/or equivalent training.
- Experience: At least 3 years of related experience preferred. 3 years of Leadership experience.
- Technical Skills: Computer Proficiency, Inventory Management, Material Handling, Coating and Mixing techniques, Production Scheduling, and Preventative Maintenance.
- Soft Skills: Maintains consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance. Collaborates effectively with team members, fostering a cooperative and supportive work environment. Demonstrates strong communication skills, including the ability to present, persuade, and negotiate effectively with colleagues. Follows instructions and guidance from supervisors or managers with professionalism and respect.
