Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. High proficiency in CAD modeling, print making and BOM creation (preferably Autodesk Inventor).

2. Designs complete assemblies to support product development activities.

3. Able to perform engineering analysis on complex problems to ensure quality.

4. Possess strong interpersonal communications skills.

5. Work well with customers effectively understanding their root needs and resolve concerns.

6. Works proactively with manufacturing to ensure customer expectations are exceeded through robust and cost-conscious design.

7. Ability to dig into root cause of problems or cost reduction opportunities for quality solutions.

8. Provides direction to machine designer / drafter.

9. Effectively considers implications of machine configuration on safety.

10. Tracks cost, schedule and quality of multiple projects simultaneously, requiring strong time management skills and prioritization of work.

11. Completes final testing / demonstrations.

12. Manages product configuration.

13. Performs product R&D testing, analysis and recommendations.

14. Prepares special project estimates for quotations as required.

15. Verifies quality of final customer solution and coworkers prints / models.

16. Responsible for CAR activities including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective actions, & preventive actions.

17. Collaborate with engineering, cross-functional teams, and other project resources in planning, developing, optimizing, and executing the project sourcing strategy including target costs, schedules, and other assigned project deliverables.

18. Leverage supplier engineering resources in selecting the best product for the intended application.

19. Ensures that RFQ to fulfilment processes, resources, and materials are documented with technical drawings, bills of materials, bills of operations, costing, ERP system-ready data and any other documentation needed to meet business needs. Manages project tracking documents to ensure timely updates and data accuracy.

20. Support engineering on NPI supplier and material selection with a standard procurement approach (quality, total cost, delivery time, innovation, avoid single sourcing, promote standardization).

Other Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.

2. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

3. Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

4. Respectfully takes direction from supervisor or manager.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

1. BS Mechanical, Structural or similar

2. CAD Software experience

3. 3-5 years' experience, mechanical systems design and projects

4. U.S. citizen

Education and / or Equivalent Experience

BS Mechanical Engineering

Training, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

1. PE License Preferred

2. Heavy Machine Design, Steel Fabrication, Oilfield Equipment Experience

Critical Skills

Language Skills : Ability to read, write, analyze and effectively present information

Mathematical Skills : Advanced mathematical concepts

Computer Skills : Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office suite

Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, interpret and collect data, and draw valid conclusions

Physical Demands

Occasionally : Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 10 pounds
