SUMMARY
This position is based in Yakima, WA and will be responsible for driving the CI Shred Truck as a Secure Document Destruction Representative as well as building business contacts and relations in the North Cascade and Lower Valley area. Under the direction of the Shred Manager and supervision of Yakima Lead Driver, this motivated and outgoing individual will facilitate the service of our current shred accounts and is instrumental in obtaining new accounts and providing outstanding customer service in the North Cascades, Yakima and surround areas. Responsible for vehicle and equipment upkeep, maintaining positive relationships with current customers, bringing in new accounts, and servicing document destruction routes as established.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We seek a highly motivated and outgoing individual for our daily shred route service. Physical work and driving involved. Computer skills required. Outstanding customer service and sales skills highly desired.
- Performs daily inspection of truck including all shred components. Reporting deficiencies.
- Performs all minor maintenance: Maintains fluid levels, lube key components, tire pressure, cleaning etc.
- Unload and clean truck daily.
- Provide excellent customer service to vendors, customers and potential customers.
- Inform regular customers of new products or services.
- Maintain shred containers- clean or repair as needed, replace when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High School graduate or GED preferred
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have current Washington Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement and valid DOT Medical Card.
- 2 years minimum previous driving experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. consistently
- Must have proof of insurance & clean driving record
- Basic mechanic aptitude
- Bilingual encouraged
- Must have computer skills
- Live in the immediate Yakima area
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires some degree of responsibility and independence. The individual must have initiative and be dependable. Must be professional, friendly, and supportive of agency personnel and their efforts. Needs to communicate effectively, utilize interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to work as a team member with staff. Written and verbal communication skills are needed. It is imperative that good relations and a positive image be portrayed to the community.
The ideal candidate for this role is detail oriented, collaborative, and comfortable networking. Experience stewarding individual donors and experience and ease with face-to-face solicitations is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Varies Monday-Friday, 4-10’s Schedule from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, some holiday or weekend work may be required on rare occasions.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma, or GED preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Speak, read, and write English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts to fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
