As a Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role as the bridge between our cutting-edge laboratory services and prospective clients, driving growth and fostering valuable relationships.
Your Key Role in Team Success
As a Sales Representative reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our laboratory testing services, cultivating and managing client relationships, and crafting and implementing strategies to meet sales goals. Your role will also involve providing top-notch customer service and handling other related duties, including but not limited to:
- Conduct research and execute cold calls to discover and reach potential customers.
- Set up and attend tradeshows to represent our services and connect with potential clients.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships by understanding client needs, delivering tailored solutions, and addressing complaints and objections professionally and promptly.
- Track sales performance, generate regular reports on activities and outcomes, analyze market trends and competitors, and identify growth opportunities. Prepare and submit sales contracts and agreements, utilizing CRM systems for tracking.
- Present and advocate for our testing services to prospective clients with compelling arguments, while maintaining a thorough understanding of our offerings, staying updated on industry trends, and providing detailed information to clients.
- Deliver exceptional service and follow-up to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain strong client relationships.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns, share best practices and market insights with the sales team, and participate in team meetings to contribute to sales strategy discussions.
Position and Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week. The role focuses on Columbia Laboratories in Portland, OR and involves up to 50% travel annually. Travel will include both office and field environments, with regular visits to client locations and event sites as needed.
Qualifications for Success as a Sales Representative
The ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States, indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship; Be highly personable, motivated, and target-driven with a proven track record in sales; have strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, plus a strong understanding of the sales process. Other qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in science, Business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 1 - 3 years of related experience in Sales i.e. Science Services, Food, Pharma, Health Science, Supplements, Cosmetics, or similar industries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Testing Services is a plus.
What You Receive
Salary between $75,000 - $90,000 Commission, comprehensive and low-cost benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) Ample PTO and a matching 401k.
