What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Mill Operator, 2nd Shift position at Columbia Manufacturing Inc.?
We are seeking an experienced Manual Mill Operator who can operate a variety of machines and enhance the productivity of our organization. The successful candidate will perform quality checks and monitor machine output hourly.
- Perform proper setup and calibration procedures for equipment and accessories used on projects.
- Conduct tool changes and monitor tool wear.
- Monitor part cycle time and meet expectations.
- Complete daily schedules.
- Read and understand company operation sheets.
- Complete in-process inspection checks using calipers, micrometers, and height gages.
- Ensure all machine procedures adhere to company guidelines.
- Inspect work areas and machines before leaving at the end of each shift.
- FOLLOW ALL COMPANY SAFETY PROTOCOLS.
- Maintain tooling in good working order and perform required maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery according to procedures.
To be successful in this role, the individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualified candidate must demonstrate training ability and support internal customer needs. The individual must accurately read blueprints, lift up to 25 pounds, and stand for eight hours. They must commit to quality, safety, and communication and be a team player.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required (associate degree preferred). A minimum of five years of hands-on experience operating manual mills is necessary. Strong basic math skills and a proven history of working with gauges, calipers, and other inspection equipment are also required.
