JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our aerospace machine shop. The Manufacturing Manager will supervise and plan work for assigned employees, optimizing equipment output for maximum productivity. The Manufacturing Manager leads and drives all operational activities to achieve on-time delivery while meeting all quality and safety protocols and standards. This role is essential for supporting our commitment to high-quality production and on-time delivery to our customers. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, experienced, hands-on working manager, with vast technical and mechanical knowledge, and customer focused.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leads manufacturing personnel to safely execute day to day operations within budget, on time and defect free.
- Uses data to analyze and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.
- Works with the Facilities Manager to schedule the maintenance of production equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Provides manufacturing technical support to shop personnel to ensure productivity goals are being met.
- Collaborates with Sales and Engineering on new opportunities.
- Drives company initiatives within the Manufacturing organization.
- Ensures that all customer, company, and industry standards are adhered to.
- Monitors and adjusts production plans as problems arise.
- Drives safety initiatives through all manufacturing operations. Monitors the manufacturing team to ensure operations are compliant with EH&S standards.
- Monitors and improves processes through the use of LEAN and six sigma concepts.
- Understands and executes daily production schedules. Align labor resources to achieve manufacturing targets. Works with Purchasing, Engineering and Quality to solve issues that prevent schedules from being executed.
- Ensures key metrics and objectives (cost, quality and delivery) are being met and written plans are in place for improvements.
- Hiring and mentoring to effectively meet business goals and customer needs.
- Ensures a competent cross trained workforce by facilitating on-the-job training and cross training through work assignments and use of mentoring to provide learning opportunities and maximum use of equipment
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Approval of PTO and review/approval of weekly labor records.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree or certification in manufacturing management or related field. Years of experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
- Experience managing a machine shop in the aerospace industry strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of blueprints, technical specifications, working in an ISO quality system and proficiency with Windows operating systems and MS Office programs.
- Experience with PFMEAs and Control Plans a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Polish highly desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o Some amount of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer but primarily candidate with be on the shop floor, working in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to climb stairs.
