JOB SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for completing the installation, modification, and repair of lighting and mechanical systems in the airport and performing preventive maintenance and repair of motors, relays, circuit breakers, power distribution, and other electrical components of the lighting and mechanical systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ensures proper completion of work orders and work requests.
•Conduct regular inspections, tests, checks, and verifications of equipment condition and performance.
•Adjust, calibrate, realign, and repair equipment and installations to the required performance standards.
•Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on emergency generators.
•Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs lighting systems and lighting fixtures.
•Working on 120/208 - 277/480v Electrical Panels.
•Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on Passenger Boarding Bridges, baglifts, 400hz, 28V, PLC.
•Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on commercial overhead doors.
•Troubleshoot emergency generators and automatic transfer switches.
•Responds to electrical service or trouble calls.
•Troubleshoots and repairs electrical wiring & all related components.
•Installs and modifies existing projects to accept new applications.
•Ensures all new electrical installations are in accordance with current Electrical Codes.
•Assist with maintenance of airfield NAVAIDs as needed.
•Troubleshoot and perform repairs to fire alarm system.
•Reports any unsafe conditions or accidents to the facilities supervisor.
•Assist other trades with various task such as air filter changes, plumbing, etc.
•Operates all snow removal equipment and perform snow & ice control duties as required.

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and professional working relationships with others.
• Must have knowledge of the tools and methods of the trade.
• Knowledge of lock out-tag out procedures for safeguarding employees from hazards.
• Skill in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Shows creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and solutions for work related problems.
• Experience with essential computer programs, including Excel, Office, Teams, and Word.
• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret building diagrams and technical procedures.
• Ability to effectively work independently or within a team environment.
• Ability to work around 480 and higher voltages.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, which may include days, afternoons, graveyards, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED
• 4 years of journeyman electrical experience
• Ability to pass TSA/Security Background check.
• Current Driver License.
• Current SC Electrical License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 5 years of commercial electrical experience.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in both office and outdoor environments, and involves exposure to noise, chemical, and other contaminants, moving mechanical hazards, and extremes of temperature and weather conditions. Must have sufficient auditory ability, with or without audio logical devices, to decipher radio communications, hear alarms, other warning signals, and vehicle signals indicating backward or forward motion. Must be able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 120 decibels and must be able to work in close proximity to 480-volt power sources.
