Adult Education Teacher Description (evening/short term classes)

An Adult Education Teacher is responsible for instructing and educating adults, with a focus on developing their skills and knowledge. They evaluate the educational needs and abilities of their students and develop lesson plans tailored to their individual needs and abilities. Adult Education Teachers must be able to effectively communicate complex subject matter and encourage student participation in group discussions and activities. They may also be responsible for assessing student progress and providing feedback. Overall, an Adult Education Teacher helps adults expand their knowledge and skills and enhance their employment prospects.

The purpose of an adult education teacher is to provide adults with the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to progress in their chosen career or to gain entry into further education. They create, deliver and evaluate educational programs which are tailored to the individual needs of the adult learners they work with. They also provide guidance and advice to adult learners on how best to use the resources available to them, and support them in their learning journey.

Adult education teacher helps adults to acquire the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to function in their everyday lives and to become productive members of society. They provide instruction in a variety of subject areas, including literacy, numeracy, English as a second language, and vocational and life skills. Adult education teachers create curriculum, deliver instruction, assess student progress, and help their students to develop the skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
