Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of High School Principal.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as an educational leader and administrator responsible for managing the daily operations and overall performance of a school.
- Assists in recruiting and assigning teaching and staff personnel, scheduling coverages, and conducting regular classroom observations to assess teaching practices and student engagement.
- Member of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) team, attends and participates in all meetings of the Joint Operating Committee, oversees student conduct and discipline, and develops successful teaching strategies within the instructional staff.
- Responsible for safety, health, and environment of students, faculty, and staff, building yearly academic/vocational schedule, supervising selection of instructional materials, and ensuring alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state standards and district goals.
- Facilitates Parent Night, supervises extracurricular activities, interscholastic athletic programs, and standardized testing procedures.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of successful teaching experience and 2-3 years in a school leadership role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to make data-driven decisions, and knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
