What You'll Do
The DME Supervisor is responsible for managing the purchasing process for all durable medical equipment used within the practice. This role ensures timely procurement, vendor negotiations, budget oversight, and compliance with Medicare and industry regulations. The supervisor will also provide leadership and support to the orthotic team, working closely with clinical staff to meet patient care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the purchasing of durable medical equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely availability.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating pricing and contracts for optimal value.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, FDA, and other regulatory standards for all DME purchases.
- Work closely with clinical staff to assess equipment needs and coordinate procurement accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor contracts, and warranties.
- Monitor purchasing budgets, review purchase orders, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Address and resolve any DME supply chain issues, vendor concerns, or product quality matters.
- Provide guidance and supervision to orthotic staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and efficiency.
We're seeking someone with:
- Knowledge and Expertise: Strong knowledge of durable medical equipment and a passion for operational excellence; Familiarity with Medicare and insurance reimbursement requirements for DME.
- Team Focused: A proven leader with excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in DME purchasing, procurement, or healthcare supply chain management.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
