Description
Job Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for assisting in the running of the press and reporting any issues to the supervisor. The operator is proficient in operating the back of the press.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs inspections of company products to determine conformance with specifications
- Ensures that inks are at viscosity and maintained every 15 minutes
- Utilizes standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and measuring devices to program, load and operate the press
- Keeps the ink room clean and orderly
- Performs press maintenance and complies with safety measures
- Keeps trash and scrap in proper containers
- Ensures that cores, cartons, and skids are ready before next order starts
- Cleans impression rolls before the start of each new run and during any downtime
- Keeps a supply of material to feed press, as well as checking size and treatment
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area, which includes keeping ink off the floor and walls
- Works well in a team environment
- Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Works scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedule
- Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned
