QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to effectively verbally communicate in, write, and read English.
Prefer background working with elder adults in declining health.
Have a positive attitude with abundant enthusiasm.
Be willing to work flexible Working Hours in this 24 hour per day, 7 day per week environment.
May be required to work weekends, holidays and after normally scheduled work hours. Possess the ability to identify problems and formulate resolutions.
Be self-motivated and well organized with excellent organizational skills.
Able to relate positively, tactfully, diplomatically, effectively, and appropriately with residents, resident’s family members and friends, community members, community personnel and contractors.
Possess integrity, imagination, initiative, and the ability to conduct oneself in an appropriate and professional manner.
Have required background check with no convictions in violation of applicable state/federal laws and no disqualifying events.
Willing to work as a team member with other staff and handle residents appropriately on whatever maturity or cognition level the resident is currently functioning.
Understand and work at all times with Standard Precautions and prevent the spread of infections and disease.
Become familiar with and follow community standards, policies, and procedures.
Become familiar with resident’s rights and your responsibility as a mandated reporter.
Able to work independently, make appropriate decisions in emergencies and safeguard resident safety and wellbeing while on duty.
Attend and participate in routinely scheduled mandatory meetings and in-services as directed.
Be drug and alcohol free and have a clean police record. May be subject to random or specified drug and alcohol screening (see Member Handbook).
Have documentation of TB testing in compliance with community standard/policy and State law.
May be required to have a negative COVID-19 test on file.

Monitor chemical use and notify Maintenance Director when low to assure ordering/replacement can be done timely.
The Member may be subject to falls, exposure to odors, etc. including the potential exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B viruses.
The Member may be exposed to resident's domestic pets (dogs, cats, birds, etc.).
All Members are required to be awake and alert during their entire work shift. Sleeping on the job site is unacceptable, even in Community break rooms.
Members may be paid for meal breaks when they are required to be on-call, such as night shift or Members accompanying residents on outings. Members who are paid for lunch periods due to being on-call during lunch and breaks may not leave the Community during paid break/mealtimes. If this paid meal break occurs during a resident outing, the Member must stay with the residents during the paid meal break.
Listed below is an outline of the duties and responsibilities that the Member may be required to perform.
➢ Schedule the Members in the housekeeping department and post the schedule no less than two (2) weeks in advance of the workweek.
➢ Supervise and manage the housekeeping department Members.
➢ Promoting the Artēgan philosophy of “Celebrating the Art of Life.”
➢ Work with the Maintenance Director and Resident Services Director to establish a cleaning schedule for each resident’s apartment/dwelling. May include ancillary services to IL residents.
➢ Develop a cleaning standards check off list for housekeeping department Members to use to validate that all cleaning was completed as scheduled. Provide this list to each Member for each scheduled shift.
➢ Assuring resident apartments are cleaned as scheduled following cleaning duty schedule. May include assisting with cleaning of the resident’s apartments and/or inspecting when cleaning is done.
➢ Assure that changing light bulbs as needed when cleaning apartments is a task on the cleaning standards checkoff list.
➢ Schedule for and assist with cleaning of common areas daily per schedule.
➢ Assure that chemicals are kept secured at all times.
➢ Assure that assigned areas are neat, clean, and well organized. May include a daily walk-around to do spot inspections.
➢ Assure laundry schedule is established and posted and that laundry is washed as assigned taking care to avoid wrinkles etc.
➢ Assure that resident beds are changed and provided with fresh linens per weekly schedule.
➢ Assist in dining room as assigned/requested. ➢ Other duties as assigned.
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
18 years of age or older.
Flexibility and weekend availability is a must.
Must present an outstanding customer service attitude and demeanor, must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
