Job Overview
Columbia River PUD is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to play an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing safe, reliable power to our community and exceptional service to our internal and external customers.
This is a supervisory position that provides project management support and assistance for the operation, maintenance, and construction of transmission, substation, and distribution system improvement projects; develops, maintains, upgrades, and operates a secure SCADA system; and develops and maintains a reliability-based predictive and preventative maintenance program for transmission, substation, and distribution equipment, including procedures and maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities
- Develops, maintains, and upgrades a secure SCADA system to ensure reliable and efficient power distribution.
- Provides project management support and assistance for the operation, maintenance, and construction of transmission, substation, and distribution system improvement projects.
- Develops and maintains a reliability-based predictive and preventative maintenance program for transmission, substation, and distribution equipment.
Requirements
To be successful as a System Engineer at Columbia River PUD, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or five years' experience with demonstrated advanced engineering knowledge in the electric utility field.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and the ability to operate various engineering software applications, including distribution analysis software, fuse coordination software, and work order system.
- Valid driver's license. Other driving-related requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of responsibilities associated with driving on behalf of CRPUD.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with five years' experience in the electric utility field.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
