Overview
We are seeking Sheet Metal Helper to support skilled Sheet Metal Mechanics in fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining sheet metal products and systems, such as ductwork and HVAC components. Duties
- Assist in measuring, cutting, bending, and shaping sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
- Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Support the installation of sheet metal components, including ductwork and flashing.
- Clean and prepare work areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Help assemble and secure sheet metal parts using fasteners, welding, or soldering techniques under supervision.
- Follow blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inspection and quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Provide general labor support as needed for project completion.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No prior experience required, though 6-12 months of construction or labor experience is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools; willingness to learn sheet metal techniques.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces, outdoor environments).
- Strong work ethics, reliability, and ability to follow instruction.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret basic measurements, read rules and blueprints is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing tasks.
