Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Assist front desk with checking patient in and out.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility.
- Answer incoming calls
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, PICU, and emergency medicine departments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in patient education regarding health conditions and treatments.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or training in the following areas:
- Outpatient care settings with a focus on patient interaction.
- EMR experience
- Insurance verification
