What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Advisor Consulting position at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, US?
The Advisor Consulting manager is a member of the Advisor Consulting & Development team supporting advisors for the intermediary distribution channel at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. The mission of the program is to be a valued partner bringing education, insights, and resources to financial advisors to better serve their clients and strengthen and grow their practices. Through this program we work directly with financial advisors; collaborate with home offices of wealth management firms to support certain key priorities; join forces with sales and national accounts team members to enable their client conversations and relationships; and partner across marketing to create, promote and deliver content through various marketing channels. In this role, you will conduct research supporting team initiatives and help produce content to bring ideas to market. You will develop familiarity in analyzing and producing equity compensation case studies for clients; and contribute to producing insightful marketing content and presentations to support the team’s business building initiatives. In supporting the senior members of the team, you will develop knowledge in different programming areas to enable sales efforts. The role has a focus on the topics of financial wellness and planning, specifically related to retirement and workplace wealth, but have the potential to grow into other areas such as investor behavior and investment tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
Understand trends related to financial planning and financial wellness impacting financial advisors with a focus on retirement and equity compensation.
Acquire and/or develop subject matter knowledge and resources related those topics, leveraging internal associates and external vendors and consultants.
Assist in the research and production of case studies that financial advisors can use with their clients
Partner closely with peers to help prioritize, create, deliver, and promote financial planning and wellness content as part of the Advisor Consulting & Development go-to-market strategy.
Work side by side with distribution team on training and delivery of program offers
Use data and metrics to uncover opportunities and assess results
Other administrative responsibilities in support of the Advisor Consulting & Development team
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3 years financial services experience, within asset or wealth management
Experience Working With Financial Advisors Preferred
Prior industry knowledge of retirement and/or workplace benefits issues preferred
Strong communication and case management skills
Ability to research and create sales ideas or marketing collateral related to topical program areas
Demonstrated success in a team-oriented environment
Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders
