This position will assist the foresters in many areas of procurement and harvest supervision as requested by the forester or Log Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe conduct of day to day timber procurement
- Timber cruising
- Boundary line location and marking
- Mapping/road location and layout
- Product utilization
- Contract administration
- Other tasks as assigned by forester
This entry level position works closely with our procurement foresters to complete tasks in a safe and timely manner.
Education
- Technical forestry school or college of forestry graduate
Qualifications
- The individual must be safety oriented, a self-starter, motivated, and able to work with little direct supervision.
- Must be able to function in a team environment.
- Basic computer literacy: familiarity with Excel, Word, Power Point and Email
- Safe Driving record/able to pass background check/drug test
Physical Requirements
- The individual must be physically fit as this work is primarily outdoors with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, mud, snow, rain, power equipment, insects, snakes, and wind in a variety of terrains from gently sloping to steep and rocky.
Travel Requirements
- Travel required - A four-wheel drive vehicle will be provided.
- Some overnight travel. (Generally no more than 4 or 5 nights per month.)
