Psychiatric Nurse - LPN-Meds

Per assigned area: Initiate and implement nursing processes for clients (adults, children, and/or families). Field, organize, and document voice mails from phone calls pertaining to questions, concerns, and side effects related to prescribed medications. Manage and complete prior authorizations for medications in a timely manner to ensure clients receive prescribed medications. Work closely with nursing staff and providers to relay decisions related to aforementioned questions and concerns back to clients to ensure the provision of quality care. Maintain medication records. Organize, file, or assist in processing of medically relevant documentation, (e.g., correspondence, faxes, mail, etc.) pertaining to each individual client's case in order to ensure consistent and informed treatment. Perform computer data entry. Meet productivity expectations. Administration of injectable psychiatric medications, including long-acting with the intended purpose of treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, substance abuse disorders, and possibly other disorders not otherwise specified, as assigned. Hep B injections for agency employees per request. On occasion, may assist in assessing crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions. Participate in individual supervision, team, staff, and/or community meetings. Supervision with direct supervisor when appropriate, or necessary, along with responsibly tracking and maintaining appropriate and required training in order to maintain licensure and certifications with State of Ohio, and for the agency. Timely and accurate completion of all agency-required documentation and time and leave reporting, as applicable. Ability to work a flexible schedule, per department need and work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Minimum Requirements:
Current and valid LPN-Meds., in State of Ohio required; with paid nursing experience in behavioral health preferred. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to details. Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary staff, social service agencies, pharmacies, and access resources. Ability to perform accurate computer data entry required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word) and electronic health (medical) record (EHR) skills preferred. Per job assignment, must have and maintain reliable transportation, agency required vehicle insurance liability limits, valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
