Position Summary:
The Lifeguards are responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of those using the club’s swimming pool, preventing, and responding to emergencies and for promoting the pool as a fun and hospitable environment for all club members in accordance with the policies, procedures and general character of the Country Club.
Requirements
- Scans the area of surveillance to make sure that everyone is safe.
- Acts in emergency situations and provides rescue and first aid assistance up to his or her training level until medical personnel arrive.
- Inspects the aquatic facility for unsafe conditions and cleanliness to prevent accidents and reports any hazards to the supervisor.
- Enforces rules consistently and fairly and informs swimmers of improper activities or hazards.
- Fills out reports for incidents or other records for reference.
- Interacts politely with members, guests, and acts as a role model for young children.
- Attends all meetings and training sessions for the aquatic facility staff.
- Any other additional duty required by the Aquatics Director or the General Manager
- Must be at least 16 years of age
Qualifications:
- Lifeguards must have current CPR, First Aid, and Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications, and Water Safety Instruction Certification and the ability to engage positively with CCC members, guests, and staff.
- Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
- Able to swim 500 yards in under 10 minutes
- Able to tread water for at least 10 minutes
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
