POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Instructional Support Coach will serve as a coach
for the schools within a Division
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The
School Instructional Support Coach will provide coaching and curricular support
to schools within a Division. The duties
will include but are not limited to the following areas:
§ Provide instructional coaching to
individual teachers, Teacher Based Teams (TBTs), and Building Leadership Teams
(BLTs)
§ Support teachers, instructional coaches
and TBTs in the implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP)
§ Coach building instructional coaches to
effectively support classroom teachers in the implementation of literacy and/or
math strategies
§ Deliver professional development to
teachers in a variety of areas including but not limited to: instructional
strategies, assessment development, Ohio State Assessments, and deconstructing
the standards
§ Collaborate with teachers, teams,
administrators, external partners, district departments, and community partners
§ Demonstrate the ability to communicate
effectively
§ Demonstrate knowledge of the necessary
work of continuous academic improvement
§ Assess specific building needs and
support schools in the development of an action plan using data
§ Work with schools to use data to inform
and guide instructional practices in order to increase student achievement
§ Engage with staff to design
job-embedded professional development aligned to building school improvement
plans
§ Provide support to schools in
integrating district initiatives into the school improvement process
§ Support the implementation of innovative
practices and programs in Division schools
§ Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Must possess valid Ohio
Teaching licensure for the Division level served (ES, MS, HS)
§ Minimum of five years
classroom teaching experience in an urban setting
§ Knowledge of effective
literacy and math practices for elementary and middle school students
§
Knowledge of NWEA/MAP
§
Thorough
understanding of the Ohio Improvement Process
§ Ability to work with
diverse cultural backgrounds
§ Effective written and
verbal communication skills
§ Available for extended
hours including mornings, evenings, Saturdays and summer
§ Flexible, resourceful,
enthusiastic, and high energy level
