This position is responsible for maintaining and beautifying the facilities of the Columbus Police Department.
- Empties trash.
- Cleans bathrooms.
- Sweep, mops, vacuums, buffs, and dusts floors.
- Shampoos carpet.
- Assists in setting up equipment for special events.
- Unloads trucks as needed.
- Washes cars as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of maintenance and custodial techniques.
- Knowledge of the use of cleaning chemicals.
- Skill in the operation of vacuum cleaners, buffers, shampooers, and wet vacs.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
The work is typically performed while intermittently standing, walking, crouching, bending, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts heavy objects and climbs ladders.
