This position is responsible for managing the maintenance of city-owned facilities
- Develops the annual budget for the Maintenance Division; monitors and administers the approved budget.
- Meets with representatives of city departments to discuss and resolve maintenance issues.
- Oversees the daily operation of the maintenance of city-owned facilities.
- Meets with members of staff to discuss jobs and timelines for different projects.
- Writes specifications for roofs, laundry and kitchen equipment, small construction and renovation jobs.
- Approves the payment of all facility maintenance bills.
- Monitors annual contracts for chillers, elevators, pest control, and extinguishers.
- Checks bids and approves contractors to do projects.
- Attends pre-bid meetings for city projects.
- Meets with the power company, the gas company, the cable company, the phone company, and the water works to discuss city needs for services.
- Meets with special event committees to discuss and plan for electrical and plumbing needs.
- Meets with vendors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of budget planning and implementation.
