What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Technician II - G119 Employee Services position at Columbus Consolidated Government?
This position is responsible for providing administrative and data entry services in support of the Human Resources Department.
- Enters new employee information into the Advantage 4 Human Resources Management(HRM) payroll system.
- Reports new hires to the Georgia New Hire Reporting Agency.
- Assists with basic requests related to access and navigation within the Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Management Self-Service (MSS) applications within the Advantage 4 system.
- Maintains application functionality within ESS and MSS.
- Review and distribute FLSA Reports to all Departments.
- Review all TIMEG documents entered for payroll to be sure they are final.
- Assists in training new users on the Advantage 4 HRM payroll system.
- Provides support to departments with time entry and personnel actions as needed.
- Assists with processing Employee Status Maintenance (ESMT) documents in the Advantage 4 HRM payroll system; acts as a backup to the HR Specialist in processing ESMT documents.
- Enters employee change requests for direct deposit, federal and state tax withholdings, and miscellaneous deductions.
- Responds to employment verifications and Open Records requests.
- Maintains employee personnel files within the electronic filing system.
- Responsible for managing physical files in the file room.
- Performs general clerical functions including copying, faxing, filing, shredding, and preparing correspondence.
- Provide front desk assistance to include answering a multi-line telephone and directing calls as necessary.
- Provide notary public service as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting basic computer problems to include pop-up blockers, clearing a cache, navigating among different web browsers, etc.
- Knowledge of office administration practices and procedures such as scanning, letter writing, and the operation of standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of standard business arithmetic and statistical computations.
- Knowledge of Advantage 4 Human Resources Management and Payroll System or other governmental Human Resources Management and Payroll system.
- Knowledge of the laws and policies relating to Human Resources.
- Skill in using a scanner, computers, and various software programs.
- Skill in interpersonal relations, organization, and problem-solving.
- Skill in applying policies to payroll transactions.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
