What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumber I G119 - Facilities Maintenance position at Columbus Consolidated Government?
This position is responsible for performing plumbing repair and maintenance on city-owned facilities. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Master Plumber.”
- Replaces and repairs pipes; replaces fire sprinkler heads; repairs leaks.
- Repairs sinks, showers, water heaters, dishwashers, and food waste disposers; unclogs sinks, showers, and sewer lines.
- Installs new plumbing equipment, including sinks, urinals, toilets, and hot water heaters; runs new water and gas lines.
- Repairs irrigation pipes and heads.
- Maintains an inventory of tools.
- Supervises inmates.
- Digs ditches.
- Assists with HVAC and electrical projects as needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance.
- Works special events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of supervisory techniques.
- Knowledge of plumbing principles and tools.
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
