What are the responsibilities and job description for the COLUMBUS TEAM LEADER position at Columbus Distributing Company?
Overview: Columbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers in Franklin County, Ohio. This role also involves implementing sales strategies, tactics, and marketing plans for the sale of Columbus Distributing products in assigned key accounts. This position also has two direct reports calling on our top bar & restaurant accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all parts of the sales process including targeting appropriate accounts, lead selling, education, and positioning brands for success within the account
- Monitor field implementation and execution of programs within assigned accounts to ensure product pricing and promotion
- Provide detailed tracking reports of team performance against agreed-to objectives
- Develop key account relationships that deliver measurable results
- Work with assigned teams to deliver monthly goals (work-withs, product training samples, etc.)
- Ensure the attainment of sales goals through the regular evaluation of business partner relationships, new business opportunities, and optimization of present sales and service levels
- Coach, direct, and counsel team on overall performance; define expectations and monitor progress
- Attract, retain, and motivate a team to maintain an engaging work environment and to ensure sound policies and procedures are adhered to
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development, training, and performance improvement
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work varied hours and days including weekends and holidays as business dictates
- Previous experience in account management or prior experience as a Supplier or with a Consumer Goods company
- Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and facilitate discussions with all levels of management
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate the workload around multiple assignments
- Four years of experience in sales, sales management, and category/brand management including but not limited to merchandising product promotion, and supplier/vendor relations
- AA/AAS or Bachelors degree preferred but not required
