Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee all aspects of branch management with emphasis on Service and Parts departments to meet business and branch profitability goals.
- Cooperate and collaborate with internal and external customers to achieve excellent customer service.
- Hire, lead, develop, review, train, and manage branch employees and promote a positive work environment with emphasis on employee morale to achieve high productivity. Effectively manage labor and equipment in the daily operation to comply with company goals in the areas of: DOT, DOL, Local 18 Union, OSHA, Personal injury, equipment and property loss, safety audits, equipment maintenance, safety, and post job reviews.
- Assist Sales & Product Support teams in all areas, including but not limited to preparing quotes, maintaining all literature required, and providing customer follow-up.
- Participates in the development of branch annual budget and optimizes the fiscal performance of the branch as compared to budget. Controls branch expenditures and costs.
- Consult with Human Resources regarding personnel issues.
- Responsible for appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, finance, economics, or relevant area of study preferred or five years’ experience in the heavy equipment industry.
- Three years successful business management experience within the construction or equipment industry preferred.
- Proven strong organizational, leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work with customers, motivate employees and work with internal departments to achieve desired results.
- Demonstrate an understanding of business operations including Accounting, Credit, Product Support and Sales functions.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Speaks and writes clearly and informatively.
- Able to prioritize and plan work activities.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers and employees
- Works well with other employees, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work directly with manufacturers.
- Knowledge of database software, manufacturing software and order processing systems.
- Ability to successfully pass a Drug Test and Background Check.
Physical Requirements/Work Demands
- Most working hours are spent sitting down and working on a computer.
- Some areas of the workplace may be hazardous and/or dirty; proper safety protective gear should be worn as needed.
- Answering the phone and speaking with customers and employees.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can occasionally be loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
