Job Summary :
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records for our home health care agency. You will work closely with our healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure that all patient information is properly documented, organized, and protected in accordance with HIPAA regulations. This is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operations of our company and the delivery of exceptional care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately maintain and update patient records in our electronic health record system
- Review and verify documentation provided by healthcare providers to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Ensure all records are organized and filed appropriately for easy retrieval
- Retrieve and process medical records for patient appointments and referrals as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with coding and billing processes as needed
- Answer calls and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding medical records and documentation

Working Conditions :
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. The office environment is fast-paced and may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing. The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds may be required. This position will report to the Medical Records Supervisor.
