Traffic Safety Lead - Part-Time

The Traffic Safety Lead role at the World Equestrian Center - Ocala is responsible for managing traffic during events. The main duties of the position include directing both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, ensuring a safe and smooth flow of traffic, and transporting visitors using non-commercial vehicles. The Traffic Safety Lead also monitors parking availability and adjusts the daily strategy as needed, along with providing instructions and support for the Traffic Safety Attendants. The Traffic Safety personnel must provide excellent customer service that represents Quality, Class, and Distinction.Primary Responsibilities :

• Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Providing Traffic Safety Attendants with instructions and support during events.
• Provide directional assistance in accordance with daily strategy. Adjusting strategy as appropriate.
• Adjust daily staffing as appropriate (extending or shortening shifts based on demand).
• Plan department shift breaks and help cover stations as necessary.
• Collaborating with department leadership on planning and logistics.
• Consistent availability coinciding with the WEC events calendar (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Knowledge of daily events, parking locations, and ideal traffic patterns to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Directing and prioritizing traffic movement to minimize delays while warning of hazards.
• Monitoring traffic flow and identifying bottlenecks to mitigate vehicle obstructions while locating safe intervals through which vehicles and pedestrians can safely drive / cross roadways.
• Communicating traffic and parking rules and other information to guests and pedestrians.
• Communicating occupancy and congestion information to leadership.
• Reporting unsafe behavior of drivers and pedestrians to leadership and security.
• Distributing traffic control signs and markers at designated points, as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to stand for long hours and in various types of weather.
• Excellent communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Should be able to work well under pressure.
• Able to think on their feet to ensure the safety of all individuals within the designated area.
