Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Part-Time Kindergarten Teacher
to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate
instruction that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of kindergarten students,
within the framework of our Jewish values and traditions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, understands the unique needs of young
learners, and is committed to creating an inclusive classroom environment that values diversity,
celebrates Jewish culture, and fosters a sense of belonging for all students.
Instructional Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with kindergarten standards,
emphasizing literacy, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and cultural
backgrounds.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful feedback to students and
families.
Classroom Management:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel
respected and valued.
- Promote positive behavior through clear expectations, consistent routines, and
age-appropriate guidance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each child's
success.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to keep them informed about their
child’s progress, milestones, and areas for growth.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events
as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
- Valid teaching credential or certification (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Experience working with elementary age children in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
- Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, and values.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices that support neurodiverse
learners.
- Familiarity with play-based and project-based learning approaches.
- Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction.
Schedule and Compensation
- 20 hours per week.
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
