Youth Advisory Council Coordination:
Job Title: Youth Advisory Council Coordinator
The Youth Advisory Council Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering youth engagement and leadership development by managing all aspects of the Youth Advisory Council. This includes recruiting, developing, and retaining Council members, as well as coordinating the grant funding process—from soliciting program proposals to reviewing applications and overseeing the award process. Serving as a key liaison, the Coordinator builds strong relationships with education systems, student organizations, and community agencies to enhance the Council’s impact and the overall member experience. Reporting to the Director of the Foundation, this position also provides essential administrative support for the Council.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the organizational operations of the Youth Advisory Council, including planning and executing its grantmaking process.
- Develop an annual calendar of activities and plan/manage monthly Council meetings.
- Facilitate the recruitment, application, and interview process for new members with a focus on equity, access, and community representation.
Community Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with youth-oriented healthcare and social services programs to promote awareness of Council-funded opportunities.
- Build networks that support the Council’s initiatives and foster community collaboration.
Member Development and Engagement:
- Oversee the philanthropic development of Council members, focusing on health-related issues and philanthropy.
- Create and implement engagement programs to deepen members’ commitment and participation, while addressing community-wide issues through solution-based learning.
- Facilitate team-building activities, coordinate guest speakers, and arrange training sessions to enhance members’ understanding of health priorities.
- Organize special events, including the annual Social and Senior Banquet, to celebrate member achievements.
Marketing and Communication:
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials to promote the Council and its initiatives.
- Ensure timely distribution of information via the organization’s website, e-newsletters, and social media platforms.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain up-to-date Council forms, manuals, and detailed records.
- Prepare and manage grant applications and awards with precision.
- Provide recommendations for program improvements to enhance the Council’s effectiveness.
Leadership and Organizational Support:
- Understand and align activities with CMAF priorities, vision, and mission.
- Provide leadership that increases organizational capacity and strengthens the Council’s impact.
Education, Training and/or Experience
High School Diploma: college/university attendance preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience in a non-profit or educational role.
Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. independently. May require occasional evening and weekend hours as business needs demand. Regular local travel and occasional overnight travel may also be required. Requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
