Job Summary: The Columbus Museum of Art is currently seeking Cashiers to join our Café team. We are looking for highly qualified candidates with excellent customer service skills, who exhibit professionalism in attire, work habits, and communications skills. We take pride in what we serve to our museum visitors and in how we serve food to them. We’re looking for candidates to join our Café Team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly manner. Answer questions regarding food items and ring up orders.
- Report food, beverage, or supply needs to the kitchen in a timely manner.
- Balance daily cash register receipts and make daily cash drop.
- Responsible for the orderliness, cleanliness, and sanitation of Café food prep work areas.
- Stock all needed products for daily operation, such as paper products, cutlery, condiments, and beverages. Brew coffee and tea for the beverage station.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Professional cooking experience in restaurants and catering.
- Appreciate and understand the purpose, and mission of the Museum.
- Quality and service oriented.
- Exhibit professionalism in attire, work habits, and communication.
Uniform Requirements: This position does require maintaining a dress code (including non-slip shoes) and a clean, professional personal appearance.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Must be able to use your hand to touch, handle and feel in the process of cooking. Must be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift 10 to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Work Environment: The work environment is a busy kitchen setting. Staff members must handle knives, dishes, and heavy pots and pans, some of which may be hot. The work environment has quiet to moderate noise levels.
