DEPARTMENT: Alternative Education
JOB TITLE: Para educator – Rule 17 Program
D.O.T. # PART TIME 5.5 hrs./day
D.O.T. CLASS:
Sedentary Light Medium X Heavy Very Heavy
REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level: Minimum high school diploma,
Must have 2 years of post-high school, or district will provide Project Para training
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to support students in a non-traditional educational setting
- Ability to work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small group situations
- Support students though an on-line learning platform
- Assist with the development of student academic and social skills
- Assist in the supervision and management of students as directed by teacher
- Ability to perform approved de-escalation and physical intervention techniques as directed by teacher
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Follow written and oral directions to carry out educational programs of students
- Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
