JOB TITLE: Attendance Secretary High School
D.O.T. # FULL TIME, 10 Month
D.O.T. CLASS:
Sedentary: Medium X
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: Secondary school diploma or higher.
B. Experience Desired: Office experience required in clerical or secretarial backgrounds. Experience in an educational setting preferred.
C. Other Requirements: Must have excellent communication, word processing and
computer skills. Bilingual is preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS
- Operate technology such as phone systems, copiers, computers, email, spreadsheets, word processing, Student Information Systems (Synergy), and other applications.
- Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.

- Set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
- Learn to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Principal or other supervisors.
- Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image in the community.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
- Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
- Receive and address phone calls and emails from parents and guardians regarding the attendance of their child and properly document the attendance.
- Communicate with Columbus High School staff regarding student attendance.
- Properly code student attendance per the District policy in the student information system.
- Send District and State required student attendance letters to parents and guardians within the mandated time frame.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.07 - $17.82 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
