Overview:
Columbus Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Intervention Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold an active Ohio Intervention Specialist license. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by developing and delivering individualized educational plans to foster their growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to deliver inclusive and effective instructional strategies tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and best teaching practices to promote student engagement, academic progress, and social-emotional development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly, adjusting strategies and goals as necessary to ensure continued growth.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including IEP progress updates and compliance records.
- Employ technology and tools such as SameGoal to streamline documentation and enhance communication across teams (preferred but not required).
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current on special education trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Required).
- Experience in special education and knowledge of best practices for teaching students with disabilities.
- Familiarity with SameGoal or other IEP documentation tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
