Job Overview
Columbus Public Health is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Supervisor to join our team. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team conducting field inspections, enforcing public health regulations, and ensuring compliance with environmental health standards. Oversees staff responsible for coordinating and completing activities related to environmental health programs, such as food safety, public pools, body art, sewage treatment systems, private water systems, school environmental health, and plan review. This position will also mentor staff, manage workloads, maintain program quality and ensure regulatory compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid State of Ohio certificate as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and four (4) years of experience in the practice of environmental health within a public health agency, two (2) years of which includes working as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist.
- Prior experience in a customer-service field, environmental health, or public health is preferred.
- Candidate must excel in assessing and mitigating risks, conflict resolution, have strong technical writing skills, and have strong communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,566.00 - $113,422.00 per year
