- Outpatient lab with two locations seeing an average of 130-140 patients per day between the two, as well as phlebotomists at three office locations
- Highly reliant on team aspect as all personnel are here to provide quality care to all patients.
- Responsibilities include patient registration, ordering laboratory tests (outpatient and client), answering the phones using a multi-line computerized system, directing phone calls to the appropriate department and/or person and performing a variety of miscellaneous clerical duties.
- This staff is also responsible for the collection of all types of clinical laboratory specimens by performing routine and special phlebotomy procedures.
- Our Lab Outpatient Specialist positions have a base hourly rate of $16.40. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience and does include shift differentials and premium pay as applicable. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- In this PRN position, you will support the department on an as-needed basis, with variable shifts and a holiday rotation. PRN positions are not benefit eligible, but instead offer a premium for hours worked.
What is required for this position:
Education and/or Experience:
- High school education or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- One year certificate from a college or technical school or one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.-CRH does offer on the job training.
- Medical terminology course; computer based knowledge, PC and keyboarding skills preferred.
- Phlebotomy orientation required within 6 months of hire.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Indiana driver’s license required and must meet the hospital's liability insurance carrier requirements.
- Phlebotomy certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certificate and/or registration preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- This position will require frequent standing, walking use of hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools or controls
- Must regularly life and/or move up to 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
