Job Description: Registers, admits and pre-admits patients. Contacts Nursing Supervisor for room placement. Performs associated record keeping and communication functions. Responsible for medical record maintenance, security and confidentiality. Prepares charge information. Computes an estimated final patient bill, patient’s deductibles and co-insurance amounts and receives, controls, and documents payments for services rendered. Verifies insurance benefits and prior authorization requirements.
Hours: Mon-Thur 7:30a-5p Fri 7:30a-12p
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in use of basic office machines and basic computer.
- Basic math skills.
Experience: A minimum of one year related clerical experience involving communications with the public, handling of money, and record keeping is required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within two months.
