What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Student Services and Placement position at Columbus School of Medical Massage?
Director of Student Services/Placement
- Serves as student advisor regarding retention, satisfactory progress, attendance and probation.
- Provides referrals to professional resources as necessary.
- Facilitates Orientation for new students.
- Monitor student progress weekly, receiving and reviewing grades submitted by faculty, ensuring students are progressing in the program as well as identifying at-risk and/or struggling students; participate in Academic Probation process.
- Generate and track student status reports during the final term of each program, notifying students of any encumbrances which may need cleared before graduation (balances, attendance, clinical requirements, documentation, etc.).
- Assists with student placement activities, helping to foster employer relationships.
- Conduct and assess student surveys: courses, instructors, and graduates.
- Referral of students to outside resources (counseling, tutoring, life skills, etc.).
- Ensures compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Handle all front office duties including; answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, receiving student payments, recording attendance, ordering office supplies and interfacing with vendors.
- Consistently strives to improve customer service.
- Complies with all departmental policies. Refers to Student Services Manual to ensure fulfillment of duties and responsibilities. Keeps abreast of all revisions and maintains a current copy of the procedures manual.
- Ensures compliance with all state, local and employment laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
