Job Summary
Purpose of Position :
The Education and Research Assistant will assist Compliance to educate our college community about how to consult with Compliance and how to access resources related to pregnant and parenting student supports and experiences of sexual harassment as well as other types of discrimination based on a protected class stated within college policy. This includes assisting the office to train on bystander intervention and to deliver other training to address potential sexual harassment and other types of discrimination.
This position is only open to students with Federal Work Study eligibility.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1) Assemble and distribute awareness campaign materials, such as hot cards and window clings
2) Research content for the Compliance Office education and training webpage, including educational videos, handouts and support resources
3) Assist full-time staff to research and create content for social media platforms
4) Represent the Compliance Office at campus events, such as Week of Welcome and Student Success Week
5) Co-present student-centered trainings with Compliance Office fulltime staff
6) Participate in Compliance Office sponsored trainings and events
7) Assist with developing strategic marketing plans to publicize Compliance Office supports and trainings to Columbus State students
8) Maintain privacy and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information
9) Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of : Columbus State campus, programs and services.
Skill in : Verbal and written communication; Attention to detail; Providing presentations and / or presenting information to an audience both in-person and virtually; Operating a computer (including a fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office); Creativity, specifically in the development of visual aids (via PowerPoint and other presentation platforms) for training presentations.
Ability to : Provide clear communication (verbal and written); Take initiative and exhibit a high level of reliability and professionalism; Work well with a team; Give and receive feedback; Manage time and duties with a high level of autonomy.
Minimum / General Qualifications :
This position requires applicants to have Federal Work Study as part of their current Financial Aid package with Columbus State. You must also be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program. Any applicants without Federal Work Study eligibility will not be considered for this position.
Applicants must have received a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.
Must have reliable transportation or other means to get to work regularly.
Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non-degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment.
Schedule :
TBD by the needs of department and student schedule between office hours of Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Maximum 20 hours per week.
Work will be performed : Hybrid of Remote and On-Site. Mainly on-site with occasional remote work.
