Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Director, Assistant Director, or other CPE staff, this role involves implementing educational programs, courses, experiences, and services that support students in achieving their educational goals. The position also includes assisting with curriculum development and planning, as well as actively engaging in professional development activities and ensuring compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual institutional training requirements. We are continuously accepting applications for part-time Instructors/Learning Facilitators, and your application will be considered whenever an opening arises in your area of expertise. This position offers flexibility to accommodate your availability, with classes typically scheduled in the evenings and often running for several weeks.
Our programs, workshops and classes are non-credit, lifelong learning opportunities available to both community members and professionals. Compensation is based on the specific assignment.
Responsibilities
- Program Delivery: Deliver high-quality, learner-centered courses, ensuring that learning outcomes are met. Teach both in-person and online classes, adapting content and delivery methods to suit different learning styles. 30%
- Course Design and Development: Collaborate with other staff to design, review, and revise professional and enrichment courses, ensuring they meet educational goals and align with the needs of a diverse student population. 15%
- Student Interaction: Provide mentoring, feedback, and guidance to students to help them achieve their learning objectives. Offer academic advising when needed, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. 10%
- Administrative Support: Manage course materials, track student attendance, assessments and document the completion of class assignments and activities. Ensure all records are accurate and up to date. 10%
- Compliance and Policies: Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all training requirements and institutional guidelines.10%
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, Continuing and Professional Education staff, and other relevant departments. Ensure clear, timely updates on class progress, student performance, and other related matters. 10%
- Program Support: Assist with recruitment, retention, and other services related to course success and student satisfaction. Contribute to departmental initiatives as needed. 5%
- Curriculum Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation of curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement and relevance to student needs. 5%
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development in expertise and stay current with best practices in education and instructional technologies. 5%
Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree or higher in an appropriate subject area and at least two years' experience in teaching, counseling, research or administration, preferably in an institution of higher education; some instructor positions may require experience in the specific program being served.
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
