Columbus Yellow Cab is seeking a 2nd shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher to join our team! Must be flexible and able to work weekends and Holidays. Must have reliable internet and a quiet working space, as this is a work from home position once training has been completed.
The primary purpose of the position is to dispatch vehicles and drivers to meet customers transportation needs. Applicant must be able to handle a high volume of calls from customers, agencies, and drivers, quickly and accurately entering the information into the dispatch system while multitasking to assist the dispatcher in ensuring timely pick-ups. You’ll be taking on-demand and reservation taxi orders and looking up various things such as order information, addresses, taxi fare estimates, etc. on the computer in order to answer questions, as well as assisting with office tasks if it’s slow.
This position requires superior organizational skills, honesty, strong leadership, and unbiased nature. Duties require the use of considerable initiative, judgement, and resourcefulness. This position requires you to be able to meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, handle change, set personal standards, stay focused under pressure, and meet attendance/punctuality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to handle multiple inbound/outbound phone calls simultaneously
- Be courteous over the phone
- Apply knowledge about company policies, procedures and pricing to best meet customer needs.
- Analyze customer information on computer system, and make any corrections and/or modifications within company guidelines
- Contact customer to obtain missing information or data to ensure complete and accurate order records.
- Schedule, plan and confirm customer pick ups
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise
- Maintain and update all logs, as appropriate
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detailed oriented
- Geographical knowledge of Columbus, OH and map reading skills
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
