Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Seasonal Evaluator to support our efforts in enhancing the guest experience and program effectiveness at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. In this role, you will play a key part in designing evaluation tools, collecting data, and reporting findings related to Zoo guests and program participants. Your work will provide essential insights that help shape our educational and visitor programs.
Responsibilities
- Tool Design & Development:
- Assist in designing and refining evaluation instruments such as surveys, observation checklists, and interview guides.
- Collaborate with program and research teams to ensure evaluation tools meet project objectives.
- Data Collection:
- Conduct observations and administer surveys with Zoo guests and program participants.
- Utilize various data collection methods to gather quantitative and qualitative insights.
- Ensure data is collected accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established protocols.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze collected data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare clear, concise, and informative reports detailing evaluation findings.
- Present actionable recommendations to management and stakeholders to support program improvements.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including education, operations, and marketing, to align evaluation efforts with organizational goals.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to supervisors and project teams.
- Data Management:
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all collected data.
- Organize and archive data in accordance with organizational policies.
Working Conditions
- This is a seasonal, part-time position with flexible scheduling during peak visitor and program periods.
- The role may involve outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of materials may be required.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in program evaluation, research, or data analysis is an asset.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, with familiarity using spreadsheets or statistical software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in a zoo, museum, or educational setting is a plus.
- Flexibility to work seasonal hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
