Position Title: Accountant I, II, III, or IV
Department: Finance Department
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Status: Regular, Full Time
THE POSITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager/Supervisor, the incumbent performs all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and other basic duties associated with accounting procedures.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
The Accountant level (I, II, III, IV) will depend on the qualifications (DOQ) of the candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- Coordinate preparation and disbursement of checks for payment of Tribal and Enterprise operations expenses;
- Match bills and statements to purchase orders;
- Verify G/L coding and entry into accounting system;
- Assist with preparation of Tribal and enterprise operations deposits;
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation;
- Process payments for special Tribal Member programs and maintains records/spreadsheets for these special programs;
- Process bi-weekly payroll including payroll tax deposits;
- Complete quarterly payroll tax return;
- Reconcile Tribal and Enterprise operations bank account and credit card statements;
- Complete monthly cost allocation and adjusts journal entries;
- Attend and participate in professional conferences and workshops to enhance position related efficiency and knowledge;
- Maintain high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment;
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Accountant I, II, III: Associates Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.
Accountant IV: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration.
Experience:
Accountant I: One (1) year of related experience.
Accountant II: Two (2) years of related experience.
Accountant III: Three (3) years of related experience.
Accountant IV: Four (4) years of related experience.
