What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Associate: Special Education Department position at Comal ISD?
Primary Purpose:
Acts as the administrative secretary for assigned department. Provides clerical services and manages office activities.
Education / Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Some college is preferred.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance.
- Ability to keep confidential information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, word processing, PowerPoint (including Microsoft Office), Adobe Pro, Microsoft Publishe
- Ability to quickly learn software application
- Spanish proficiency at native speaker level.
Experience / Other Requirements:
- Three years of Clerical / office experience is required.
- Experience in a public education environment is preferred.
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists in preparing and submitting local, state, and federal budgets.
- Assists patrons/parents/employees who call or visit the offic
- Answers incoming calls, takes reliable messages, and routes to appropriate staff.
- Receives, sorts, and distributes mail and other documents to department staff.
- Types, proofreads, copies, files, and distributes all letters, documents, memos, and other communications for the department and administrato
- Orders supplies for the department.
- Prepares monthly budget/expense reports for departmen
- Processes purchase orders for departments.
- Assists administrators on projects as needed.
- Keeps up with changes in policy and procedu
- Keeps current all assigned files, documentation, & form
- Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department reco
