What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician and Automation Supervisor - Pharmacy position at Comanche County Hospital Authority?
Will supervise all pharmacy techs in the 4 pharmacies.
DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director, The Pharmacy Technician and Automation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of pharmacy automation systems, managing USP compliance, ensuring proper medication management, preventing drug diversion, and coordinating employee scheduling. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
EDUCATION:
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):
Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Technician Permit within 120 days of hire
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two (2) years Certified Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
2. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with advanced certification
3. Bachelor's degree in a related field
4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
5. Extensive knowledge of pharmacy automation systems
6. Thorough understanding of USP standards, particularly USP <797> and <800>
7. Strong knowledge of medication safety practices and drug diversion prevention strategies
8. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
9. Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software
