What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Outpatient position at Comanche County Hospital Authority?
DEFINITION: Responsible for directing, modifying, and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the Physical Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Physical Therapist after the Physical Therapist has evaluated the patient. The PTS assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The PTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in PI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational training, and fire safety programs. Patients cared for or interacted with are infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):
Must have permanent Oklahoma State Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant or have Oklahoma Temporary Permit under direct supervision pending permanent licensure.
