POSITION SUMMARY: Provides confidential direct care and supervision to youth ages birth-18 who are abused, neglected, and deprived, includes paraprofessional guidance, intervention in behaviors, documentation of day-to-day behaviors, events, and activities, and maintains a professional child-friendly presence. Will assist the Program Director with the responsibility for the supervision of multiple staff who are assigned to various shifts and will help with scheduling, organizing, and or directing staff activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides instruction to residents by directing their day-to-day activities.
- Helps residents develop and achieve personal goals and life skills.
- Inspects living quarters to ensure health and safety standards.
- Participates with residents in cultural events and other community activities.
- Observes, records, and reports residents' health symptoms, behaviors, and activities.
- Transports residents to and from medical appointments and school activities.
- Will assist the Program Director with the supervision of Residential Care Staff.
- Will assist the Program Director with scheduling, organizing, and directing staff activities.
- Will assist in developing and conducting training for the residential care staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
REPORTS TO: As a Lead Tech-Residential Care Specialist, you will report directly to the program director and have limited supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to participate with residents in all activities (i.e., walk long distances, stand for long periods, lift, stoop, bend, crawl, squat, or physically exert themselves regularly. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Confidential work environment inside and on the shelter’s grounds, ensuring the privacy and safety of both staff and residents. Staff will travel to and from school, appointments, events, and other activities with residents, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED,
- Preferred: completion of 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university,
- Education may be substituted for or at least two (2) years of experience working with children in a residential care facility.
- Must be able to successfully complete all training requirements for sole supervision of residents, including but not limited to first aid certification, CPR, and managing aggressive behaviors.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and insurable under the Comanche Nation’s Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Must pass State & Federal background investigation.
- Must submit and pass all Drug Testing.
- Must be able to perform any job-related travel.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
