Licensed Practical Nurse, PRN

POSITION SUMMARY: The LPN under the direction/supervision of a RN provides quality nursing care to residents by utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Edith Kassanavoid Gordon Assisted Living Center.  Performs a variety of direct and indirect duties within the scope of practice of an LPN.  Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment in the best interest of residents.
• Completes all nursing documentation/charting including updating care plans.
• Obtains and administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician.
• Documenting and reviewing medication and treatment plans for accuracy and compliance with physician orders, professional standards, federal and state regulations, and facility policy.
• Occasionally may be assigned duties of CNA.
• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: This position reports to the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator and will be supervising CNA's.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have the ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing 50 pounds or less.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works indoors, exposure to bodily fluids, biohazards, needles. Emotionally stressful. Work Holidays and Weekends. Assist with Resident Outings and Activities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Oklahoma.
• Must possess a Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Must possess a First Aid Certification.
• Preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year nursing.
• moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
• proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills.
• Must be proficient in utilizing computers, computer programs to include Microsoft Office, and Computerized Charting.
• Must have a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License and be insurable under the Comanche Nation's motor vehicle policy. 
• Must be able to pass OSDH background check.
• Must be willing to submit to and pass drug testing.  
• Must be able to work nursing shifts on 8 hour or 12 hour rotating schedule, with availability for any shift.
