POSITION SUMMARY: The General Revenue and Tax Administrator is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Comanche Nation Tax Commission. Administers, enforces, and interprets, Comanche Nation Tax Laws based on the goals, and objectives contained General Revenue and Taxation Act. Manages all Tax Commission staff according to established Policies and Procedures. Communicates effectively with the Tax Commission Officers, CBC, and Tribal Administrator as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforces, and implements the established Comanche Nation Tax Laws based on the goals, and objectives expressed within the General Revenue and Taxation Act as governed by the Comanche Tax Commission and other applicable Tribal laws, rules and regulations.
- Complete required reporting requirements and deliverables as specified in the General Revenue and Taxation Act.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain efficient budgeting methods to ensure successful management and control.
- Maintain all Oil and Gas requirements as necessary.
- Supervise, discipline, hire, terminate, evaluate, counsel, complete time and attendance for stall, approve/deny staff leave as requested, maintain an effective work environment for all staff at the
- Tax Commission.
- Regulate the implementation, and compliance of all pertinent Tribal Tax Laws.
- Furnish written and verbal reports as required and/or requested to the Comanche Tax Commission officers, CBC, and Tribal Administrator.
- Assess, collect and issue receipts for collected taxes imposed by Act of Ordinance of the Business Committee.
- Files cases in Tribal Court on behalf of the Comanche Nation for collection of Tribal Taxes.
- Utilizes various computer software as necessary to complete required responsibilities.
- Review, monitor, and revise all incoming and outgoing work duties for Tax Commission staff to ensure accuracy.
- Review, monitor and create effective accounting procedures for all incoming end of business cash deposits for external Comanche Nation entities.
- Composes all outgoing correspondence as necessary.
- Attends Comanche Business Committee meetings as requested, Tax Commission meeting of Officers when scheduled, Director Meetings, and all other engagements as required or requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Reports to the Tax Commission Officers (CBC), immediate day-to-day operations Supervisor is the Tribal Administrator. Incumbent is responsible for the overall supervisory responsibilities of all Tax Commission employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess the ability to bend, sit for an extended time frame, lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of duties will be completed in an office work environment, may be required to travel in town, and out of state as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work experience in Business, Tax Commission, Tag Agency, Licensing or related fields.
- Work experience in Tribal Government, Tribal Operations, Tribal Tax Commission or similar field.
- Work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations.
- Work experience in Oil and Gas.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Comanche Nation motor vehicle policy.
- Must be able to pass drug testing and a background investigation.
