What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surveyor position at COMANCO?
POSITION: SURVEYOR
We are looking for a licensed surveyor to help ensure our projects are completed accurately and on time. This role requires hands-on experience with engineering instruments and knowledge of GPS systems. To succeed as a surveyor, you should also have great mathematical and analytical skills, and a good eye for measurements.
Job Focus:
- Record elevations, northing and easting at the job locations using GPS Surveying equipment. Accurately input the collected data into the surveying unit.
- Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. Northing, Easting)
- Prepare "as built" panel layout drawings, documenting panel layout, repair, pipe boots, types of seams, etc.
- Use the GPS to as-built the liner systems, and collecting the seam and repair information.
- Responsible for safeguarding and regular maintenance of the GPS surveying and equipment
- Research and design methods for survey processes
- Provide Final As-Built Drawings and Recorded QC Documentation to Project Managers for review.
- Check for consistency, accuracy, and correctness in Field Documentation and As-Builts.
- Review As-Builts versus Design Elevations
- Notify project team on QC documentation updated throughout the duration of the project to be corrected during install.
- Provide guidance to field Quality Control staff.
- Travel is required
Requirements and skills
- Licensed Professional Surveyor in the State of Florida (preferred)
- Working knowledge of GPS
- Tech savvy, including familiarity with CAD software
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Great organizational and leadership skills
